On special event day;
- enjoyed the day and found it useful. Good that Connexions is producing something as there was nothing for me when I needed it
- this day has been good – I’ve learnt a lot and I feel like I’ve had a real opportunity to contribute and share my experiences
- It’s a great idea for Connexions to ask young parents about young parents and the information they need
- It was useful to talk to advisers and hopefully our information will help other teenagers in this situation
Compliments from parent/carer:
- concerning PA – acted with a very professional attitude but more importantly made us feel totally at ease at all times

Complaints
Young person complained about having to register when viewing Connexions website new vacancy system. A reply explained that you do not have to register and can go directly to “Find a job NOW” to view vacancies. The benefits of registering were also explained in the response.
Problems with registering onto the new online vacancy system. Response was sent explaining that an investigation had been carried out and that the IT company developing the system had made adjustments to resolve the ‘teething’ problems which were hightlighted.
Young person complained about the poor condition of chairs at a Connexions site. A response was sent explaining that the chairs had been examined and it was accepted that some were stained, however, no more than expected given the frequency of use. Consideration will be taken to replace chairs if budgets allow.
No access to wheelchair users at a Connexions site, stair-lift was not working.
Response sent explaining this issue is being raised at Management Committee and that the young person will be informed of the outcome. In the meantime contact Connexions and other facilities / meeting places can be arranged to enable access to the delivery of services.
Suggestions
A suggestion was received to keep Connexions open on Saturday mornings. A response was sent explaining that for the foreseeable future the office would be open on Saturdays.
